Jennie Kwan began her life long career into show biz at the young age of eleven. She performed in her first semi-professional gig with performing troupe Kids of the Century. On a flight home from New York City after performing with the troupe, Jennie was discovered by a LA based talent agent.
At eighteen, Jennie landed the role of “Kim” in the First National Broadway Tour of “Miss Saigon” after producer Mackintosh conducted a worldwide search to cast the role. This launched her career into musical theatre. Her extensive musical theatre credits include "Kim" in “Miss Saigon” directed by Nicolas Hytner and composed by Alain Boubill and Claude-Michel Schonberg, Broadway National Tour of "Avenue Q" created by Bobby Lopez and Jeff Marx directed by Jason Moore, Original cast of "Bare" as Diane Lee directed by Kristen Hangii and composed by Damon Intrabartolo, Lead role as Lipoh in "Land of Smiles" directed by Ted Braun and composed by Erin Kamler.
She also has starred in select regional theatrical productions including “Blood Wedding” directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera and “Tea, the Musical” created by Velina Hasu Houston, directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera, composed by Nathan Wang. For two years, Jennie traveled the country with "Faces of America," a solo performance piece dealing with diversity and tolerance in America. And Disney lovers have been fortunate enough to see Jennie ride the magic carpet as "Jasmine" in Disney's musical spectacular, "Aladdin."
Jennie also has an array of credits in the television world. She was introduced to television as the series regular Samantha Woo on “California Dreams” which aired on NBC for five years before moving into syndication for several more years. Some of Jennie’s other television credits include "New Girl", “Anger Management” opposite Charlie Sheen, “Beverly Hills 90210”, “The Nanny” opposite Fran Drescher, “Family Matters”, and Oliver Stone’s mini series “Wild Palms”.
She has been privileged to work in the film world as well. Some film credits include “Entourage” , “Promoted”, “Trojan War” and film shorts include “Invasion of the Money $natchers” and “Play Time”. Jennie was also a pioneer in the world of webisodes as a series regular on "Fear of a Punk Planet," created by Joe Escalante of "The Vandals" for Digital Entertainment Network.
Jennie has also lent her voice to the world of animation. Fans around the world recognize her voice as "Suki" on Nickelodeon's hit animated series "Avatar: The Last Air Bender," as well as all the video games for the series. To add to her Nickelodeon credit, Jennie played "Bit Girl" in the animated pilot "Dr. Dee and Bit Boy." She has also voiced characters and performed motion capture movement for the video game “True Crime Hong Kong”. Jennie can be heard in a wide range of voice-acting projects including Eureka 7, BlazBlue, Rozen Maiden,Twinkle Toes, When They Cry, Accel World and many many more.
Being no stranger to the music industry, Jennie was a member of Hollywood Records girl pop band Nobody’s Angel. With recording their sophomore album, a development deal with ABC Family , and touring under their flashy belts- the band received a Gold Record for recording two songs on "The Princess Diaries" Soundtrack. Today, Jennie continues to collaborate on different musical ventures and is a re-occuring member of high-energy Kids Pop band "Twinkle Time" as Priscilla Poodle.
In the present, Jennie resides in Los Angeles and continues to live “The Dream” with her quirky Brussels Griffon Calvin along with her awesome husband Matt. She continues to work in all areas of the entertainment business as an actress, singer, voice over artist, and vocal coach.
